By accessing or using Sachilo ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. Your continued use of the platform after any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use this Service. By using Sachilo, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Description of Service

Sachilo is an automated fact-checking platform. Users submit URLs of news articles or claims, and our system uses artificial intelligence to analyze the content, search for supporting or contradicting evidence, and generate a verdict. Verdicts are produced entirely by automated AI systems without human editorial review at the time of generation.

4. Disclaimer of Accuracy

All verdicts are generated by automated systems and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Our assessments do not constitute legal, professional, journalistic, or medical advice. You should not rely solely on our verdicts for any decision-making. We strongly encourage users to verify information independently using multiple sources. Sachilo does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of any verdict.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools to scrape or excessively query the Service.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, bot protection, or access controls.
• Submit URLs containing illegal content or content that violates the rights of others.
• Use the platform to harass, defame, or harm any person or organization.
• Interfere with the proper operation of the Service or its infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
• Misrepresent Sachilo verdicts as your own original research or official rulings.

6. Intellectual Property

Verdicts and reports generated by Sachilo are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0). You are free to share and adapt our verdicts provided you give appropriate credit and distribute any derivative work under the same license. Users retain all rights to the URLs and content they submit for checking. All other intellectual property in the Service (branding, design, code) remains the property of Sachilo.

7. Corrections Policy

We welcome correction requests from anyone. If you believe a verdict is inaccurate or based on outdated information, you may contact us to request a review. We will re-evaluate the claim and update the verdict when warranted. Corrections are processed in good faith and may take reasonable time to complete. Updated verdicts retain a visible record of the original assessment and the date of correction.

8. Rate Limits & Access

To ensure fair access and prevent abuse, we impose rate limits on submissions. These limits may vary and are applied based on device identity. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for users who repeatedly violate usage policies or attempt to circumvent access controls, without prior notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Sachilo, its operators, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or reliance on the Service, including any decisions made based on our automated verdicts.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sachilo, its operators, and contributors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nepal. Any disputes arising from the use of this Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal. If you are accessing the Service from another jurisdiction, you are responsible for compliance with your local laws to the extent they apply. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer protection rights that apply to you under mandatory local law.

12. Force Majeure

Sachilo shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing obligations under these Terms caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, internet outages, cyber-attacks, pandemics, or infrastructure failures.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
